The page Sales Campaigns › Overview shows what a hotel's campaigns have achieved: how many messages were sent and read, how many recipients clicked, sent a request and booked, and what revenue resulted from them.

Example: Check which campaigns of the last few months brought bookings

  1. Open Sales Campaigns › Overview. By default, the page analyses all dispatches of the last 3 months.

  2. Under “Type”, leave “Campaigns” selected so that only campaigns are included in the figures.

  3. In the “Advanced filter”, under “Requests/bookings that arrived in the following period after dispatch”, select the value “Six weeks”. The default is “Four weeks”. With “Six weeks”, a booking counts for the campaign if it arrives up to six weeks after the dispatch. By default, the guest must have performed a “Click” beforehand.

  4. In the “Key data” tab, read the “Booking rate”, the “Revenue” and the “Revenue per recipient”.

  5. In the “Top 3 campaigns by number of bookings” table, read the “Bookings” and the “Revenue” of the three campaigns.

The “Overview” page has shown how many bookings and what revenue the campaigns of the last few months brought, and which three campaigns had the most bookings.

The pages in detail

Overview

The page summarises all dispatches of a period. These filters narrow down the analysis:

  • “Period” sets which dispatches the page analyses. The default is the last 3 months.

  • “Type” switches the figures of the page between the dispatches “Campaigns” and “Selections”. The selections are only available to choose if they are also licensed for the hotel.

  • “Campaign type” narrows the figures down to “Interactive content” or “Classic newsletter”, the type that is chosen when a campaign is created.

  • “E-mail layout” narrows the figures down to campaigns with a specific layout, for example “Emotional with header image” or “Text message”.

  • “Device type (first access)” narrows the figures down to “Desktop”, “Tablet” or “Mobile”.

  • “Advanced filter” sets when a request or booking is attributed to a campaign. “Requests/bookings from guests who have previously taken the following action” sets which action the guest must have performed for their request or booking to be attributed to the campaign, by default “Click”. “Requests/bookings that arrived in the following period after dispatch” determines how long after the dispatch a request or booking still counts: “Two weeks”, “Four weeks” or “Six weeks”, by default “Four weeks”.

The page also shows the charts “Send volume and performance”, “Device type” and “Dispatch channel” and several tables with three campaigns each: “The 3 most recently sent campaigns”, “Top 3 campaigns by click rate”, “Top 3 campaigns by number of requests”, “Top 3 campaigns by number of bookings” and “Top 3 campaigns by revenue”. The columns show “Campaign name”, “Date”, “Sent”, “Opened”, “Clicked”, “Requests”, “Bookings” and “Revenue”. “Details” in a campaign row opens the page of that campaign.

Key data

The “Key data” tab shows the figures of the selected period as individual values: “Messages”, “Open rate”, “Click rate”, “Interaction rate”, “Request rate”, “Offer rate”, “Click rate (offer)”, “Booking rate”, “Revenue”, “Revenue per recipient”, “Click-through rate (booking link)”, “Undeliverable”, “Unsubscribes” and “Skipped”. The offer, booking and revenue figures are only available with the licence module Offers.

“Skipped” counts the recipients to whom nothing was sent during dispatch. The reasons for this are “Guest is blacklisted”, “Not consented”, “Email bounced”, “Marked as spam”, “Unsupported recipient address”, “Marketing action interval” and “No email address”. Test dispatches are not counted.

Booking funnel

The “Booking funnel” tab shows the same dispatches as a sequence of stages: “messages were sent”, “messages were read”, “recipients have clicked”, “recipients have sent a request”, “offers were created”, “offers were clicked” and “recipients have booked”.

Prerequisites

  • ‘Overview’ belongs to the licence module Sales Campaigns. With Offers, the offer, booking and revenue figures are added.

  • If the module is licensed, access to it is enabled for specific users through their role. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.

  • ‘Overview’ is included in the Sales Campaigns and Marketing Cycle packages and can be booked individually. The prices are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a booking missing from the analysis? A booking is only attributed to a campaign if it arrives within the period after the dispatch that the “Advanced filter” sets, and if the guest previously performed the action selected there. The defaults are a “Click” and “Four weeks”. Both values can be changed in the “Advanced filter”. In addition, the page only shows booking figures with the licence module Offers; ReGuest support can tell you whether it is set up for the hotel.

Why were recipients skipped? The key figure “Skipped” counts recipients to whom nothing was sent, for example with the reason “Not consented” or “No email address”. A guest's consent to email marketing is changed in the guest archive.

Why are no selections available under “Type”? “Type” only switches to the selections if they are also licensed for the hotel. ReGuest support can tell you whether this is the case.
