On the “Settings” page, every staff member sets how the Outlook add-in remembers their sign-in, which saved instance code is preselected and whether the add-in marks emails in Outlook with categories. There, all remembered sign-ins can also be deleted, or the add-in can be reset to factory settings. The page opens via Outlook ribbon › “Re:Guest Outlook Add-in” › “Re:Guest” › header bar › “Settings”.
Example: On the reception computer, remember the sign-in only for the current session
A reception staff member has signed in to the add-in with “Remember in Microsoft account”. Because she works on a computer that colleagues also use, the add-in should from now on remember her sign-in only for the current session.
Open the add-in. Open an email in Outlook. Click the “Re:Guest” button in the “Re:Guest Outlook Add-in” group of the ribbon to open the add-in's task pane.
Open the settings. Click the name of the signed-in staff member in the header bar to open the menu, then click “Settings” to open the “Settings” page.
Make a new choice. In the “Re:Guest accounts” box, under “Remember login”, select the option “Remember for current session only”. The choice is saved immediately; there is no separate button for saving.
Back to the email. Click “Close” to return to the task pane.
Result. The staff member stays signed in, and the task pane shows the open email again. The new choice applies at the next start of the add-in or at the next sign-in: the sign-in then applies only to the current session.
The pages in detail
“Settings”
The page opens via the menu in the header bar. The menu opens with a click on the name of the signed-in user and contains the entry “Settings”. The page can also be reached without signing in: the menu is then called “Info & Settings”. The page has three boxes, “Re:Guest accounts”, “Categories” and “General”. “Close” leads back to the task pane when reading an email, and back to the compose pane when writing an email.
Box “Re:Guest accounts”
“Re:Guest instance codes” lists the saved instance codes. Every instance code with which a sign-in succeeded is saved. The code that is set as the default is followed by “(Default)”. On the add-in's “Login” page, this code is preselected in the selection list at the next sign-in.
“Set as default” on an instance code makes it the default. This is saved immediately and without further confirmation. The entry is missing on the default itself.
“Remove” deletes the instance code from the list after a confirmation prompt. Saved sign-ins and the current sign-in are not affected. “Remove” is on every entry, including the default and the code of the current sign-in. If the default is removed, the first remaining code becomes the new default.
“Remember login” sets how the add-in remembers the sign-in:
“Remember in Microsoft account”: The sign-in applies on every device with this Microsoft account, without having to be repeated.
“Remember on this device only”: The sign-in applies only on this device.
“Remember for current session only”: The sign-in applies only to the current session.
Every staff member makes the choice at their first sign-in, on the “Login” page under “Stay signed in”. After that, it can only be changed here. A different choice is saved immediately, without a separate button. The existing sign-in is kept; the new choice takes effect at the next start of the add-in or at the next sign-in.
Box “Categories”
If the “Categories” switch is on, the add-in sets the category “Request” on an email in Outlook when a request was created from it, and “Message” when it was transferred as a message. If the category is missing in the mailbox, the add-in creates it. The switch is on by default. A change is saved immediately and applies immediately. The setting applies to the Microsoft account.
Box “General”
“Delete saved profiles” removes all remembered sign-ins. The add-in asks for confirmation first; “Delete” confirms.
“Reset to factory settings” additionally removes the instance codes and the choice under “Remember login”, and switches “Categories” back on. The add-in asks for confirmation first; “Reset” confirms.
After “Delete saved profiles” and after “Reset to factory settings”, nobody is signed in any more. The add-in stays on the “Settings” page, and the header bar shows “Info & Settings” instead of the name. The welcome page “Re:Guest Copilot”, which the add-in shows without a sign-in, appears only after “Close”.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have to sign in again after a new choice under “Remember login”? No. The existing sign-in is kept. The new choice takes effect at the next start of the add-in or at the next sign-in.
Where can the choice under “Stay signed in” from the first sign-in be changed? Only on the “Settings” page, in the “Re:Guest accounts” box under “Remember login”.
Why is “Set as default” missing on an instance code? The code is already the default, as “(Default)” after it shows.
What happens if the default code is removed? The first remaining code becomes the new default. The current sign-in is kept.
What is the difference between “Delete saved profiles” and “Reset to factory settings”? Both remove all remembered sign-ins, after which nobody is signed in any more. “Reset to factory settings” additionally removes the saved instance codes and the choice under “Remember login”, and switches “Categories” back on.
Can the “Settings” page be reached without signing in? Yes. Without a sign-in, the menu in the header bar is called “Info & Settings”, and there “Settings” opens the page.
