The “Translations” tab lists the hotel's languages, and for each language the hotel enters its name, the sender name of its emails, its website and its logos. Guests see this information in the guest area, in emails and in the PDF, each in their own language. The tab is under Settings › Hotel Configuration › Translations.
Example: Enter name, sender and logo for all languages
A hotel presents itself in German and English and wants guests to see the right hotel name, sender and logo in both languages.
Open Translations. Open Settings › Hotel Configuration › Translations. The page shows the “Languages” selection and the “Hotel name, Web Address and Logo” section.
Enter the names. For each active language, fill in “Hotel name”, “Email sender name” and “Website address”. These three fields are mandatory for each active language. As long as the sender name is missing for a language, “Quick Insert for All Languages” copies name, sender name and website unchanged into all languages; nothing is translated.
Choose the logo. Under “Logo”, choose the logo via “Select image”. ReGuest copies a chosen image into all languages in which the slot is still empty.
Save. Select “Save”.
Result. In the guest area, in emails and in the PDF, guests see the name, the website and the logo in their language, and every email to guests carries the sender name entered.
The pages in detail
Translations
The page has three parts: the “Languages” selection, the “Hotel name, Web Address and Logo” section and the “Common” section.
Languages. “Languages” lists the hotel's languages. The choices are German, Italian, English, French, Russian, Dutch, Spanish, Romanian and Portuguese. “Default language” and “Fallback language” must both be among the active languages. ReGuest creates the notification emails to the hotel staff about new requests in the “Default language”. If a guest's language is not an active language of the hotel or is unknown, ReGuest uses the “Fallback language” for them. This selection needs its own access in the role.
Hotel name, Web Address and Logo. For each active language, this section has “Hotel name”, “Email sender name” and “Website address”, all three mandatory, and several logo fields, among them “Logo”; none of these is mandatory.
“Hotel name”, “Website address” and “Logo” appear in the guest area, in emails and in the PDF, each in the guest's language.
“Email sender name” is the sender of every email to guests.
“Select image” chooses an image for a logo field. ReGuest copies it into all languages in which the slot is still empty.
“Map image” carries the note “Deprecated - doesn't have to be selected”.
“Quick Insert for All Languages” appears as long as the sender name is missing for a language. It copies name, sender name and website unchanged into all languages; nothing is translated.
Common. This section has “VAT ID (optional)” and “CIN (optional)”. The footer of the guest area shows both.
“Save” saves the page.
Prerequisites
‘Translations’ does not need a licence module of its own.
Access to ‘Translations’ is enabled for specific users through their role. The following need their own access in the role: the selection under “Languages”, “Default language” and “Fallback language”. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Frequently asked questions
Why can the languages not be changed? The selection under “Languages”, “Default language” and “Fallback language” needs its own access in the role. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Why can the page not be saved? An active language is missing “Hotel name”, “Email sender name” or “Website address”; these three fields are mandatory for each active language.
Does the quick insert translate the hotel name? No. “Quick Insert for All Languages” copies the values unchanged into all languages.
