Addresses

Under “Addresses”, the hotel sets its postal address and its location on a map. Guests see this address in the guest area, in e-mails and in the booking confirmation, and in the offer ReGuest shows them the map of the hotel's location. The tab is under Settings › Hotel Configuration › Addresses.

Example: Create the hotel's postal address with its map position

A hotel sets up its postal address. It should apply to all languages, show guests a map and carry a link to the route in the booking confirmation.

  1. Open Addresses. Open Settings › Hotel Configuration › Addresses. The page shows the list of addresses; if there are none yet, it says “There are no hotel addresses yet.”

  2. Create a new address. Select “Add”.

  3. Enter the postal address. Enter “Street”, “ZIP code” and “City”, and select the country under “Country”. “Street”, “City” and “Country” are mandatory.

  4. Select the language. Under “Language”, select “For all languages”. The address then applies to every language for which there is no address of its own.

  5. Save. Select “Save”. After that, the page shows the address for editing, now with “Show address on the map”, the “Geo Position” section with the map and “Delete”.

  6. Set the location. Select “Show address on the map”. ReGuest searches for the position of the address and sets the location on the map.

  7. Set the map section. Move and zoom the map the way guests should see it. “Assign visualized center” applies the centre shown, “Assign visualized scale” the zoom level shown.

  8. Turn on the route link. Turn on the “Show link to Google Maps directions” switch.

  9. Save. Select “Save”.

  10. Result. In the list, the address appears as “Standard”, without the note “Geo position is missing”. Guests see the postal address in the guest area, in e-mails and in the booking confirmation. In the offer they see the map first as an image and after a click as an interactive map; in the booking confirmation as an image of the map with a link to the route.

The pages in detail

List of addresses

The list shows all addresses of the hotel. “Add” creates a new address.

  • “Standard” appears for an address without a language, which therefore applies “For all languages”. If a building/hotel is assigned to it, its name comes first. An address with a language shows the name of that language in the list.

  • “Geo position is missing” appears for an address for which no location on the map has been set yet.

Address

This is where an address is created or edited.

Postal address. “Street”, “City” and “Country” are mandatory, “ZIP code” is optional. “Save” only becomes active when “Street” has at least 3 and “City” at least 2 characters, a “Country” is selected and an entered “ZIP code” has at least 3 characters.

“Language”. An address with a language applies to guests of that language. “For all languages” means that no language is assigned to the address; it then applies to every language without an address of its own. This way, the hotel can write its postal address differently for guests of one language than for all others.

“Hotel”. The field appears only with the Multi-Property licence module. An address with a building/hotel applies to that building. “For all hotels” means that no building/hotel is assigned to it; it then applies to every building/hotel without an address of its own.

ReGuest decides which address a guest sees in this order: first the address of their building in their language, then the address of their building “For all languages”, then the address “For all hotels” in their language, and last the address “For all hotels” and “For all languages”.

“Show link to Google Maps directions” adds a link to the route to the booking confirmation.

“Geo Position”. The section appears as soon as the address is saved. On the map, the hotel's location, the centre and the scale are set.

  • “Show address on the map” searches for the position of the address and sets the location there. A click on the map also sets the location.

  • “Assign visualized center” applies the centre of the map currently shown.

  • “Assign visualized scale” applies the zoom level of the map currently shown.

Buttons. “Save” saves the address, the new one as well as an existing one. “To list” leads back to the list of addresses; if there are unsaved changes, the page first asks whether they should be discarded. “Delete” deletes the address after a confirmation prompt.

Prerequisites

  • ‘Addresses’ does not need a licence module of its own. Multi-Property adds the “Hotel” field in an address.

  • Access to ‘Addresses’ is enabled for specific users through their role. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
