An image gallery groups photos or logos together, and the hotel assigns the group to its offer templates and selection action templates. In the offer to the guest, a photo gallery then appears as a collage or behind a button, and partner logos appear in a block below it. The menu item is under Media Management › Image Galleries.
Example: Create a photo gallery for the summer and assign it to the templates
Open Media Management › Image Galleries. The “Photo gallery” tab appears first.
Click “Add”. The “Add photo gallery” page opens.
Under “Internal name”, enter a name, for example “Summer by the lake”. For “Title” and “Sub title”, a new photo gallery already comes with texts, in German “Impressionen” and “Einige Eindrücke von unserem Hotel”.
Click “Create”. ReGuest saves the gallery and opens “Edit photo gallery”.
Click “Select images” and, in the dialog, click the photos in the order you want. Every selected photo carries a number.
In the dialog, click “Save”. The photos are in the gallery immediately, in the order of the selection.
Under “Usage in templates”, click “Assign only templates without gallery”. Every template under “Offer templates” and “Selection action templates” that has no gallery yet receives this one.
The pages in detail
Photo gallery
The first view of the menu item. The list shows each gallery's internal name, and a click on an entry opens “Edit photo gallery”. “Filter by name...” searches in the list. With “show archived”, archived galleries appear as well, paler and at the end of the list. “Add” opens “Add photo gallery”. A gallery with fewer than 8 images carries the notice “Contains less than 8 pictures”.
Add photo gallery
The “Internal name” field is mandatory. “Title” and “Sub title” exist for each hotel language; a new photo gallery comes with texts for them, in German “Impressionen” and “Einige Eindrücke von unserem Hotel”. “Create” saves the gallery and opens “Edit photo gallery”. Images can be added only after the gallery is created.
Edit photo gallery
“Gallery information” shows the “Internal name” field and, for each language of the hotel, “Title” and “Sub title”. Changes to these fields take effect only when you click “Save”.
“Contains the following photo” shows the photos of the gallery. “Select images” opens the dialog in which photos are added or taken out. Dragging changes the order, and a photo can be removed individually. ReGuest saves every change to the images at once. A photo gallery takes only photos in 16:9 format, no videos. With fewer than 8 images it shows the warning “Contains less than 8 pictures”; ReGuest saves the gallery anyway.
“Usage in templates” lists the templates under “Offer templates” and “Selection action templates”. For each template, a switch assigns the gallery or removes it and saves the template at once. “Assign only templates without gallery” fills only templates that have no gallery yet. “Assign to all templates” gives the gallery to every template. If a template already has another gallery, the page asks first, and “Apply” replaces the previous gallery with this one.
“Duplicate” creates a copy with all texts and images and opens it. Its name ends in “ - Copy”.
“Archive” takes the gallery out of the list, “Reactivate” brings an archived one back. A gallery cannot be deleted.
Select images
One click selects a photo, a second click cancels the selection. Selected photos carry a consecutive number, and the gallery then shows them in this order. “only high-resolution media (Full HD)” shows only photos that are at least 1920 pixels wide. “Save” applies the selection at once: photos that are no longer selected drop out, new ones are added.
Logo gallery, Add logo gallery and Edit logo gallery
The “Logo gallery” tab has the same fields for adding and editing as “Photo gallery”. A logo gallery takes only logos. “Contains the following logos” shows the logos of the gallery, and “Select logos” opens the dialog for them. Under “Usage in templates”, a logo gallery can be assigned as “Partner logos” per template.
Select logos
The dialog shows the hotel's logos; “Search by logo name” searches by name.
What the guest sees
In the offer, the photo gallery appears only if it has images and a text in the guest's language. How it appears is set by the design's “Gallery block style”: “Collage directly visible” shows the first 8 images as a collage with title and subtitle, “Button for gallery at address block” only a button at the address block. A click opens all images as a full-screen gallery. Partner logos appear with their introduction in a block below. On the pages for booking, deposit, cancellation, pre-stay and post-stay, the partner logos of the offer template appear.
Prerequisites
‘Image Galleries’ does not need a licence module of its own.
Access to ‘Image Galleries’ is enabled for specific users through their role. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Frequently asked questions
Why is “Media Management” missing from the menu? It appears only if the user's role includes access to it. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Why does the offer not show the gallery? The gallery needs images and a text in the guest's language. Under “Gallery information”, fill in “Title” and “Sub title” for this language and click “Save”.
Can a gallery be deleted? No. A gallery is archived and can be brought back with “Reactivate”.
Why does “Contains less than 8 pictures” appear? The gallery has fewer than 8 photos. ReGuest saves the gallery anyway. “Collage directly visible” shows the first 8 images; with “Select images” you add more.
What happens if a template already has another gallery? The page asks first; only “Apply” replaces the previous gallery with this one.
