“Guest Profiling” shows in which language a hotel communicates with its guests, which countries the guests come from and with which device they first opened the guest pages. The menu item is under Analytics › Guest Profiling.
Example: See which countries the guests came from in the previous quarter
Open Analytics › Guest Profiling. The “Demographics” tab is already selected.
For the period, select the shortcut “prev. quarter”.
Read the chart “Guest countries of origin in creation period”. It shows how the guests of the period are distributed across their countries of origin.
Select “Show data in table”. The figures appear as a table with “Country”, “Offers” and “Percentage”.
Select “Copy table to clipboard”.
The page then shows the countries of origin of the guests of the previous quarter as a chart and as a table, and the table is on the clipboard.
The pages in detail
Figures are counted by the date on which the communication was created, not by the arrival date. The default is the whole previous month. The period can be set with the shortcuts “-7 days”, “-30 days”, “curr. month”, “prev. month”, “curr. quarter”, “prev. quarter” and “curr. year”. With Multi-Property, “All facilities/hotels” limits the figures to one facility or hotel. The figures are recalculated once a day during the night, so the current day is missing.
“Show data in table” shows the figures of a chart as a table, “Hide data table” hides it again. “Copy table to clipboard” copies the table. If there is no data for the filters, it says “No data exists for the selected filter criteria.”
Demographics
The tab shows “Guest languages in creation period” and “Guest countries of origin in creation period”, each as a bar chart and a pie chart.
“Guest languages in creation period” shows how the guests are distributed across the languages in which the hotel communicates with them. The table has the columns “Language”, “Offers” and “Percentage”.
“Guest countries of origin in creation period” shows how the guests are distributed across the countries from their address. Guests without a country are listed under “unknown”. The table has the columns “Country”, “Offers” and “Percentage”.
Device type
The tab shows “Platform first touch by device type”: the device with which the guest first opened the guest pages. The groups are “Desktop”, “Tablet”, “Smartphone” and “unknown”; other and unrecognised devices are listed under “unknown”. The table has the columns “Device type” and “Count”. In this tab, the selected period ends yesterday at the latest, even if it extends to today or into the future.
Prerequisites
‘Guest Profiling’ belongs to the Offers licence module. With Multi-Property, the “All facilities/hotels” filter is added.
If the module is licensed, access to it is enabled for specific users through their role. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Frequently asked questions
What must be set up for the analysis to show values? The hotel needs the Offers licence module, as stated under “Prerequisites”. ReGuest support can tell you whether it is set up for the hotel.
Why is the “Guest Profiling” menu item missing? The menu item only exists with the Offers licence module, and only a user whose role includes access to it sees it. ReGuest support can tell you whether the module is set up for the hotel. Roles are managed by ReGuest support.
Why are guests listed under “unknown”? In the “Demographics” tab, these guests have no country in their address. In the “Device type” tab, the guest used a different or an unrecognised device.
Why are today's figures missing? The figures are recalculated once a day during the night. The current day therefore only appears the next day.
Can a table be downloaded? No. The tables can only be copied to the clipboard with “Copy table to clipboard”.
